Shoppers Drug Mart is national in scope yet locally based. The Tree of Life campaign gives us the ability to serve the needs of our local communities and neighborhoods.
By purchasing a Tree of Life leaf, maple leaf or apple at their local Shoppers Drug Mart® or Shoppers Home Health Care store, our caring customers and employees are in fact donating money to charities that are selected by their local Pharmacist-Owners across Canada.
Since its inception, our customers and employees have donated more than $8.9 million dollars to communities across Canada through the Tree of Life campaign. Last year, more than 245 community charities benefited from the generosity of our customers and employees.
The 2008 Tree of Life campaign runs in your community between September 13 and October 10. One hundred percent of your support will go directly to a local health charity. This health charity has been chosen as a “high needs” group by your neighborhood Shoppers Drug Mart Pharmacist Owner.
The campaign encourages customers to purchase and personalize their own paper “leaf” for $1, “maple leaf” for $5 or an “apple” for $50. Each “leaf” is then displayed on a “tree” branch on the “Tree of Life” in the store. 100% of all proceeds from fruit and foliage will go directly to the charity organization that was chosen by the pharmacist-owner of that particular store.
This year there are 309 community health charities to benefit from the 2008 Tree of Life campaign.
